MONDAY ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

 

Bookstore (Holt; 8/14- 5/19)

Driver Education (Ben St. Pierre; 10/2)

Students interested in Drivers Education for the October session, which starts Saturday October 21,  need to register with the Moon Valley bookstore by October 20th. You may register by mail if need be by contacting Mrs. Martin at the Moon Valley bookstore at 623-915-8019.  Students must have a valid permit or drivers license in order to take the class.  Students also need to participate in all  4 classes and then receive 6 hours behind the wheel instruction in order to pass the class.  Again, the deadline for students interested in drivers education is Friday October 20th with classes starting Saturday October 21. Thank you.

Yearbook (Mashall; 9/26- 10/3)

Did your school yearbook picture come out less than spectacular? Or were you absent on picture day? Luckily, there will be retakes next Tuesday, October 3rd from 10am – 1pm. Come during your lunch to retake your picture.  Order forms are in the bookstore or Ms. Marshall’s room, B20.

Math Club (Milesic, Pampel; 9/28- 10/3)

If you are looking to earn some tutoring hours or are in need of a tutor come to the next math club meeting on October 4th in R15 at 8:30 am. We hope to see you there!!

STUCO (Marshall; 10/2)

Everybody love Barbeque and Shane’s Rib Shack will be here every Monday to bring you their tasty barbeque. You have the option to purchase a shredded barbeque sandwich or buffalo chicken strips with chips for $5.00.

Choir Concert (Godfrey; 10/2- 10/3)

The choir invites you to attend our Fall Concert on Tuesday, October 3 at 7:00 pm in the Performing Arts Center. Not only will you hear choir music, but you will be entertained by a nice variety of soloists. The concert is free!

Cross Country (Groseta; 10/2)

The Cross Country team continued to impress at the Nike Desert Twilight meet on Friday night.  Competing amongst 250 schools from around the Southwest, 16 runners ran their personal bests with Daniela Barron breaking 22 minutes in the girls’ race and Victor Flores, Cristian Guillen, and Jesus Aldana all running under 17 minutes for the 3.1 mile course.  Jesus Aldana broke his own school record, finishing in 16 minutes 14 seconds.  Great Job Cross Country!

All cast members for the Fall Play, “Almost, Maine” will need to attend a mandatory meeting, after school on Wednesday 10/4/17 at 3pm. If you cannot make this meeting, you need to speak with Ms. Farson directly.

Cross Country (Groseta; 10/5)

Congratulations to the Cross Country team for defeating Washington, Bradshaw Mountain, and Copper Canyon in a meet yesterday.  Angel Flores won the JV boys race and Divine Ingabire won the JV girls race with Maria Molina finishing second. Great job Cross Country.

National Honor Society (Gaspar; 10/5- 10/6)

There is a National Honor Society meeting this Friday for all members THIS FRIDAY! Members may choose to attend the 7:30 a.m. meeting in Mr. Gaspar’s room B-4 or the 2:45 p.m. meeting in Mr. Griffith’s room in B-15.

GCC ACE Announcement (Dr. Rodriguez; 10/6- 10/18)

Sophomores Only: GCC is offering free college classes through the ACE Program.  GCC will be doing a presentation of all the information and how to apply. It will be Wednesday, October 18th,  in the Mini at 7:30-8:55.  GCC Representatives will be presenting and answering all questions on how to apply. The ACE application will be due November 2nd  to your counselor. This is a scholarship program for free college classes at Glendale Community College and a great opportunity! Be there!

PSAT (Dr. Rodriguez; 10/5- 10/24)

Sophomores and Juniors do you want a chance to earn scholarship money to go to college anywhere in the US?  Sign up to take the PSAT test in the bookstore now.  The test is October 25th in the PAC building and it is first come first serve until it is full.  The cost is $16.00 paid in the bookstore.

Defeat the rivals, yes we did. The girls Volleyball Program had yet another sweep to the local Glendale Cardinals. Great job ladies you rock. Thanks to Football for coming out to support us. Have a great break everyone and be safe.
