MONDAY ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

Bookstore (Holt; 1/23)

Information:  The following books will be available for purchase in the bookstore:

Crucible, $9.00, The Handmaid’s Tale $8.00, The Great Gatsby $10.00, The Great Expectations $5.50, Othello $2.50, and the Invisible Man $9.50…LIMITED SUPPLY WHEN THERE GONE THEY ARE GONE.

Driver Education (Tualla; 1/23)

The driver Ed.session for Jan. 28 is filled . You can now register for
 the April 1 session, as again, only 32 students will be allowed to attend the session.

Softball (Wiley; 1/23)

If you are going to try out for Softball make sure you get cleared ASAP. If you were in another sport make sure you get your cards switched over to softball. If you went to get the free physical last year go to the Athletic office and makes sure they have it. Don’t wait to get cleared! No open field until tryouts. Try outs are February 6th.

Dean’s Office (Harrison; 1/23)

From the Dean’s office:

Today is ID check day! Please take out your student ID and place it on your desk or table. Teachers please take a moment to high light the names of students who DO NOT have an ID to produce. Students, please take out your ID.

Also, beginning Tuesday, January 24th , the Dean’s office will start holding after school detention in the school cafeteria on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. You may be required to attend one of these detention sessions if you choose to violate school rules. Detention will be held in the cafeteria from 2:40 until 4:00. If you ride the bus, you will be able to catch the late bus and still get a ride home. If you fail to attend after school detention will be given a referral for a 1 day off campus suspension. Again, after school detention begins next week!

STUCO (Marshall; 1/23)

Everybody love Barbeque and Shane’s Rib Shack will be here every Monday to bring you’re their tasty barbeque. You will have the option to purchase a shredded barbeque sandwich or buffalo chicken strips with chips for $5.00.

MATH CLUB (1/23)

Do you need help with your math homework? Math Club is offering free tutoring every Wednesday at 8:15am in room R15.

Be rational and add yourself to the attendance.

ALL athletes wanting to go out for track, there will be a mandatory meeting on Friday at 2:45 in the mini auditorium. Please make sure to attend.  If you are not able to attend, please see Coach Gardner before then.

Seniors:  Are you interested in a career in the Forensic Science field?  If so, please come see Mrs. Starr about the possibility of going to the GCU Forensic Science Day. We will need 10 students to go so come to the Career Center as soon as possible.

La Familia (Ms. Figueroa; 1/24- 1/26)

Attention all La Familia Club members:  We are having our meeting this Thursday, January 26 after school in Ms. Figueroa’s room, R28.  See you all there!

Otaku (o-ta-ku) There is a meeting today in Mr. Kennedy’s, room 221. Again, there will be a meeting today afterschool in room 221 upstairs by the green stairs.

Dodgeball Tournament 2.0 (Marshall; 1/25- 2/10)

Patriots there will be a Dodgeball tournament, Wednesday February 15th from 6 to 8 pm. Sign-ups will be located in the mall area during both lunches. Each team must have 6 members and each player must pay $3 dollars to play.

Health and Wellness Club (Frazen; 1/25- 1/26)

Attention those that LOVE to dance!  This Friday, January 27th kicks off a series of FREE classes offered in the I.H.S. Dance Room (upstairs in the gym).  To promote health and wellness, professional instructors from across the valley have agreed to share their talents with us!  Both students and staff are welcome to join in the FUN and get moving.  The first class this Friday from 3-4pm is Lady’s Salsa Styling.  It will cover technique and body movement for ladies who like to Latin Dance.  Wear comfortable clothing & socks or jazz shoes for the dance floor.  See Ms. Frazen in B8 with questions.

Boys Tennis (Baughman; 1/25)

There will be a mandatory meeting for all boy's interested in playing tennis this year in the main gym at 2:45 on Thursday.  

Lincoln Tech (TStarr; 1/25)

Are you interested in a technical school outside of Arizona?  Lincoln College of Technology in Denver will be here today at lunch.  They offer certifications in auto tech, collision repair, air conditioning and welding.  Stop by at your lunch today and talk with their representative about opportunities Lincoln Tech has for you.

Just a reminder for those attending the Driver Education class this Saturday , Jan. 28 : it is very important to be punctual for class which starts at 8:00 a.m. Must attend all 12 hours of class before one can do the behind the wheel portion and receive your car insurance discount card.Bring a pencil or pen to class as there will be some activities that require you have one. Get lots of sleep as it will be a 4 hour session. See you Sat. morning.

Girls Soccer (Monaghan; 1/27)

Congrats to the Lady Patriots Soccer team who are State bound for the fourth year in a row. The ladies defeat the Apollo Hawks last night with a score of 2-0. Great job from the entire team. It's a great day to be a Patriot. Thanks to all that came out to support us.
