MONDAY ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

Bookstore (Holt; 3/13)

Information:  The following books will be available for purchase in the bookstore:

Crucible, $9.00, The Handmaid’s Tale $8.00, The Great Gatsby $10.50, The Great Expectations $5.50, Othello $2.50…LIMITED SUPPLY WHEN THERE GONE THEY ARE GONE.

Driver Education Session (Tualla; 3/13)

Sorry to announce that the April session will be limited to 16 students. Presently there are 12 already registered with only 4 openings left. The reason we are limiting this session is due to Mr. Bracciali having to go in to have spinal surgery this week and will be unavailable to help. The only session left this school year will be the summer session from May 30 to June 1. you can register for this session if you missed the cutoff for April 1.Mr. Tualla will call some of the April session to start doing the behind the wheel in March before class starts as he will be gone for 2 1/2 weeks to China and will drive the rest in May

STUCO (Marshall; 3/13)

Everybody love Barbeque and Shane’s Rib Shack will be here every Monday to bring you’re their tasty barbeque. You will have the option to purchase a shredded barbeque sandwich or buffalo chicken strips with chips for $5.00.

Community Colleges (T.Starr; 3/13)

Seniors:  Are you planning to attend any of the Maricopa Community Colleges next year?  Now is the time to enroll, take your placement test and get your classes.  Come to our Career Center to get the process started.  Seniors will go to GCC on Wednesday, April 19, to work on the enrollment steps.  We will provide a bus for you.  You can go to test at GCC even if you will be attending any of the other colleges.  Mrs. Starr has more details.

Choir Concert (Godfrey; 3/14)

You are invited to attend the Spring Choir Concert tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. Three choirs will perform, and we will feature 10 choir seniors in the Senior Solo Showcase. There will also be guest performers from our musical theater auditions. Admission is free.

Presidential Scholarship (T.Starr; 3/14)

Seniors:  Do you have the paperwork for the Presidential Scholarship at any one of our local community colleges?  This scholarship pays for your tuition.  Come see Mrs. Starr in the Career Center for the paperwork.

Surge on Campus/Elevate I.H.S. (Bolton, Badini; 3/14- 3/15)

The Surge/Elevate I.H.S. Christian Fellowship Club will be having a “FUN” meeting for current members and guests ON Wednesday, March 15th after school in the Mini-Auditorium downstairs.  We’re excited to have food, drinks, special games & activities for all who join us, so be sure and grab any friends and bring them along. See YOU there and as always…remember that U R loved!

Culinary (D. Snyder, N. Ingram; 3/14)

Hey Patriots! Smoothies are back in the Pit Stop on Tuesdays and Thursdays during both lunches. Smoothies are $2.00 each.

LOL Patriot Pride (Waltenburg; 3/14- 3/17)

There will be a secret panel of judges around school looking for the student with the most Patriot Pride. This student will be announced at the Assembly on Friday and will win a special award for their pride and dressing up during the week! Show your Patriot Pride and you could win a prize!

Are you looking for something different? Are you considering law enforcement or becoming an attorney? What about computer coding or gaming? There will be two new and exciting classes offered at Independence next year! If you are interested in taking the Law and Public Safety class or Computer Coding class, stop by the Counseling Office and sign up ASAP!

CCAP Culinary Final Competition (D. Snyder; 3/17)

If you see D’Nyjah French today wish her luck! Saturday, March 18th she is competing in the CCAP Culinary Final Competition for a scholarship. She has been practicing all of the fancy food she has to cook. Best of luck D’Nyjah, we are proud of you!

Prom Tickets will be going on sale and if you have more than a $6.00 fine on your account, you WILL NOT be able to purchase the tickets until all the BOOKS, MONEY OR ITEMS ARE returned.  If you have any questions, just come to the bookstore.
