Fall Play Auditions (Farson; 8/29- 9/5)

Auditions for the Fall Play, “Almost, Maine” will be on Tuesday September 9/5/17 and Wednesday September 9/6/17 at 3:15pm in the auditoriumAlmost, Maine is a play comprising nine short plays that explore love and loss in a remote, mythical almost-town called Almost, Maine. All auditioners will need to complete an audition packet prior to their audition. Please sign up for either Tuesday or Wednesday on the sign up sheet on the bulletin board outside of Ms. Farsons room.

PIT Club (L. Gardner; 9/5)

Thinking about getting in shape? Come join PIT Club. PATRIOTS IN Training.  There will be an information and club sign up on Tuesday, September 5th in the Main Gym.  If you have questions please see Coach Gardner in PE.

Anime and Manga Club (Kennedy; 9/5)

To all you Anime fans, you Otaku (o-ta-ku) There will not be a meeting today. Again, there will NOT be a meeting today afterschool.

Media Center (Ehrick; 9/5)

Hey, do you want a public library card? Well, you have a chance Friday September 8th. Starting at 8:00AM until 3PM, a representative from the Glendale Public Library will be here to sign students, teachers, and staff up for library cards.

So, what do you need? Please bring your student ID or license, and please write down your home address or something with your address on such as a bill or piece of mail.

Hiking Club (Mitchell; Chandler; 9/5- 9/7)

Patriots: If you want to be part of our first hiking event, you must come to the meeting that will be held this Thursday, September 7th, at 2:45 in room 121. Please see Mrs. Mitchell or Mrs. Chandler before school ends on Thursday if you are not able to attend the meeting!

Have you filled out your school meal application yet?

A new meal application must be filled out every year! If you received program benefits last year, the benefits carry over for the first 30 days of school. September 15th will be the last day you will be able to use that account. Any student who has not turned in a NEW application by this date will be required to Pay full Price for meals until a new application is filled out, received, approved and processed.

Lunch $3.00

Breakfast $1.50

Art Club (Cramer; 9/6)

Attention Art Club members… Just a reminder that there will be an Art Club meeting in Cramer’s classroom, room 232 after school today. Please bring your fundraiser money and any items you did not sell. Please do not be late.

Patriot Freshman Football (9/6)

Come out and support your Freshman Football Team tonight (Wednesday) as they take on the Kellis Cougars at 6:00 pm. They had a great start last week and look keep that first half momentum going into tonight’s game! Go Patriots!

Key Club (Pampel; 9/6)

Wednesday 6th: Attention KEY-uties [KEE – you- tees]! Today is the day! Key Club will be having their third meeting, at 2:45, in the PAC building/ main auditorium. If you want to stay connected and up to date on the Key Club events we hope to see your there!

National Honors Society (Gaspar; 9/6- 9/8)

Attention current members of National Honors Society. There is a mandatory meeting this Friday in Mr. Gaspar’s room, room B-4. Members can choose to come to either the morning meeting beginning at 7:30 a.m. or the afternoon meeting beginning at 2:45 p.m.

All current members must attend or risk losing their National Honors Society membership. If you cannot attend either the morning or afternoon meeting, contact Mr. Gaspar immediately in room B-4.

Volleyball (C. Morgan; 9/6)

Congratulations to our freshman volleyball team for pulling out a tough win taking it to 3 games, bringing our record to 3-0. Keep pushing girls coaches are proud of you all. 

Volleyball (Monaghan; 9/6)

Great effort put forth by both the JV and Varsity Volleyball teams. They both came up short to North Canyon but fought all the way to the end. Keep working girls. Please come and support the volleyball program in their first home game tonight against Kellis.

Student Council (Marshall; 9/7)

Wear red this Friday to show your support for the patriots. We are having a Red out against Kellis for the Varsity football.

Volleyball (Monaghan; 9/7)

Congratulations to our  Varsity Volleyball team who defeated the Kellis Cougars last night. Lady Patriots have not beat Kellis in the 11 years that I have been coaching. Coaches are very proud of you all. Ms. Bauler Cougar on the court but Patriot in our heart. 

Key Club (Pampel, Milesic; 9/7-9/12)

Math club members there will be a meeting Wednesday, September 13, at 8:30 in R15. Come and check out what math club is all about; you can count on a good time.

Soccer (Monaghan; 9/8)

STUCO (Marshall; 9/8)

Everybody love Barbeque and Shane’s Rib Shack will be here every Monday to bring you their tasty barbeque. You have the option to purchase a shredded barbeque sandwich or buffalo chicken strips with chips for $5.00.

Volleyball (Monaghan; 9/8)

The Varsity Lady Patriots come up short last night to the Apollo Hawks. It was a hard fought battle and truly fun competition. Great job ladies keep pushing. We are rocking it.

Congratulations to the JV Volleyball team in their win last night against Apollo. Coaches are very proud of you girls. Keep up the hard work. 

Volleyball (Morgan; 9/8)

Congratulations to the freshmen volleyball team on their win yesterday against the Apollo hawks. Coach Wiley and Coach Morgan are very proud of you! Keep up the hard work ladies.

Student Council (Marshall; 9/8- 9/13)

Gentlemen--Do you have what it takes to represent Independence as Mr. IHS?  All confident freshmen, sophomore, juniors, and seniors are welcome to attend an audition on Wendesday, September 13 at 3pm in the mini-auditorium to demonstrateyour  modeling/speaking skills, and a talent.
