GCC ACE (Trezza; 10/30- 11/16)

Sophomores Only: Glendale Community College (GCC) is offering free college classes through the ACE program. GCC came and did a presentation of all the information. If you missed it, see your counselor. The application is in the counseling department. Come and pick it up! The ACE application will be due Friday November 16th to your counselor. This is a scholarship program for free college classes at Glendale Community College and a great opportunity!

JV Spiritline Tryouts (Coach Rubio; 10/31- 11/5)

There will be a mandatory meeting for anyone interested in trying out for the JV Spiritline on Monday, November 5th. Tryout packets will be distributed. You cannot participate without a tryout packet.

STUCO (Marshall; 11/5)

Everybody love Barbeque and Shane’s Rib Shack will be here every Monday to bring you their tasty barbeque. You have the option to purchase a shredded barbeque sandwich or buffalo chicken strips with chips for $5.00.

Empowerment club will be hosting a capoeira (kä-pə-ˈwā-rə) workshop after school in the dance room from 3-4 PM on Wednesday November 7th. If you don’t know what that is that’s okay, come join us and find out! Please wear comfortable workout clothing and bring water.

The Independence campus collection of Santa letters for the Macy's Believe Campaign starts this week! One letter to Santa is a $1 donation from Macy's to the Make-A-Wish Foundation®, which "grant[s] the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy."  

Collection is November 5th - December 5th

Letters may be simple, but school appropriate.

Students may turn in letters to any teacher.

Our goal is 45,000 letters!

Make a coffee stop at the Patriot Hut tomorrow morning.  Hot or iced coffee is available for $1.50 and a muffin is just $1.50.

Patriot Hut (A. Munoz; 11/6)

The Patriot Hut has several new lunch approved items for sale.  Come try out the new Grandma’s Chocolate Chip Cookies or the new Goldfish Crackers.  We’re also testing out a popcorn option and cheddar/sour cream Ruffles, as well as new lunchtime drinks like kiwi strawberry juice and G2 blue Gatorade.   Remember the Patriot Hut is open for the first 25 minutes of BOTH lunches!

Fall Play (Farsons; 11/6- 11/9)

Your patriot performers are proud to present our fall play, Fools. This funny play focuses on a small village that has been cursed with stupidity. It is up to the new schoolmaster, Leon to break the curse. The show is full of silly characters and lots of laughs. Show dates are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 6pm at the PAC. Tickets are $6 cash at the door. Don’t miss your opportunity to watch your fellow patriots on stage.

The Young Environmentalist’s Club and Jr. ROTC Community Service will meet in Ms. Kieu’s Room G-11 TODAY after school at 2:45 pm. Please come out and join all of the Young Environmentalist’s and Jr. ROTC in getting community service hours credit while helping the Patriot Nation Environment in Recycling. WEST-MEC (Koole; 11/9- 11/12)

Attention sophomores, juniors and seniors! Are you interested in a West-MEC program for next year?  If so, there is a mandatory application meeting next Wednesday, November 14th.  You will need to attend one of the meetings: either 8:00 a.m. or 2:40 p.m. in the Mini Auditorium. Remember, if you do not attend one of these meetings, you may miss your chance to apply!

We are also taking students on a fieldtrip to West-MEC’s NW Campus on 11/21. Go pick up a permission slip from the Career Center.

Freshman Class of Stuco (Marshall; 11/9- 11/13)

We are having a Chipotle Fundraiser at the Westgate Chipotle on Tuesday November 13th! Please join us, a portion of the proceeds goes to the Freshman Class.  We hope to see you there!

Due to the Veteran’s Day holiday, Photo Club will hold our upcoming meeting on Tuesday, November 13th. We have some important announcements to make regarding upcoming field trip activities. We hope to see you there!
