TUESDAY ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

Bookstore (Holt; 1/10)

Information:  The following books will be available for purchase in the bookstore:

Crucible, $9.00, The color of Water $10.00, The Handmaid’s Tale $8.00, The Great Gatsby $10.00, The Great Expectations $5.50, Othello $2.50, and the Invisible Man $9.50…LIMITED SUPPLY WHEN THERE GONE THEY ARE GONE.

Driver Education (Tualla; 1/10)

The third  Dr. Ed.  session will be  starting on Jan. 28 and currently there are only 14 openings left . Once the count reaches 32 it will close. Registration is at the Moon Valley bookstore and a copy of your driver license or permit must be submitted to the bookstore manager in order to register for the class. Your 2017 school tax credit can be used to pay for the class. Their spring Dr. Ed. session will be on April 1. It is recommended that students get some driving time with parents before starting the behind the wheel portion after the classroom session. The class will fill up fast so register as soon as possible.

PSAT Scores are here!  (T.Starr; 1/10)

The PSAT scores are finally here.  If you took the PSAT here in October, go to the Career Center to get your scores.  The Career Center is open before and after school as well as during your lunch.

Media Center (Ehrick; 1/10)

Attention Library Patron,

Do you currently have a library book that you checked out over break? If so, it’s due today. Please stop by the library to renew or return your library book before it is overdue.

Want to be a doctor? (T. Starr; 1/10)

Are you thinking about a career in the medical field as a doctor?  You will have an opportunity to hear a presentation from the University of Arizona College of Medicine.  You need to know that medical school is a scholastic challenge.  You need to start preparing NOW if medical school is in your future.  The presentation will be Weds, Jan 25th at 7:45 in the Mini. 

Track (Groset; 1/10- 1/11)

Interested in running distance track? There will be a meeting for all mid-distance and distance runners in Mr. Groseta’s room WEDNESDAY at 2:45.  DISTANCE track meeting Wednesday at 2:45 in Mr. Groseta’s room. All are welcome!

Girls Soccer (Monaghan; 1/10)

Congratulations to the Lady Patriots Soccer team for taking 1st place in the Patriot Invitational over the Christmas break. They defeated North Canyon in the Championship game with a score of 3-2. Taking home the big trophy.  Last night they lost a hard fought battle to Williams Field. Keep working ladies you rock. Coaches are proud of you

Surge on Campus/Elevate I.H.S. (Bolton; Badini; 1/11)

The Elevate I.H.S., a.k.a. Surge Christian Fellowship Club will be having a “FUN” fellowship meeting TODAY Wednesday, January 11th after school in the Mini-Auditorium downstairs.  We’re excited to have “special games & activities” for all who join us, so be sure and grab any friends to bring along. See YOU there and as always…remember that U R loved!

Softball (Wiley; 1/11-1/13)

If you are going to try out for Softball make sure you get cleared ASAP. If you were in another sport make sure you get your cards switched over to softball. If you went to get the free physical last year go to the Athletic office and makes sure they have it. Don’t wait to get cleared! Try outs are February 6th.

What what.... The lady Patriot soccer team does it again. Varsity defeated Carl Hayden with a score of 11-0 and JV defeated them 4-0. Great job ladies.

GCC Application Workshop (T. Starr; 1/12)

Seniors:  Are you planning to attend GCC next year?  You can come to the computer lab next Wednesday morning to get the process started.  GCC representatives will be here to guide you through the application process.  Help will be available starting at 7:45.  The application takes about 30 minutes to complete to plan to come early.  See Mrs. Starr in the Career Center has more information.
