TUESDAY ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

 

Boys Varsity Soccer (S. Gomez; 1/8)

For the 2nd year in a row, the Boys varsity soccer team won the Independence Winter Soccer invitational!!! The team went 2-0-1 in pool play with wins over Alhambra 4-1 and Cesar Chavez 10-0 and a tie with Trevor Browne 1-1. The Patriots would face Trevor in the finals and after falling behind 1-0, came back to dominate the rest of the game scoring 6 unanswered goals. The final would be 6-3. Over the course of the tournament, eight different Patriots scored goals. The boys are back in action tonight against the 4th ranked Gilbert Tigers, here at home. Game time is 6:00, so come on out a support your boys soccer team!!!

Holiday Bundle (Munoz; 1/8)

If you purchased a holiday bundle from the Patriot Hut last week, it’s time to get out your raffle ticket.  The winning raffle ticket is….are you ready for it?....the winning number is 7591148.  You can see Ms. Munoz in Room G6 for your basket that contains over $15 in snacks and beverages.  Be sure to bring your ticket with you!

 

WEDNESDAY ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

 

Boys Varsity Soccer (S. Gomez; 1/9)

The boys kicked off 2019 with a 3-1 win over Gilbert High School last night. Senior Alexis Mendoza put the Patriots on the scoreboard just 4 minutes into the game off of a rebounded shot. Senior Enrique KiKe Arellano added the second goal of the night on a great counter attack and capped off the scoring with a header off of a great cross from Sophomore Andy Mata. The Patriots improve to 11-1-1 on the season and will look to avenge the lone loss, this Friday at Ironwood High School.

Hey Patriots who are interested in playing Spring sports: It’s never too early to get cleared. Head over to the Athletics Office to get the paperwork and find out more about the process.

Speech and debate will be having a short meeting regarding upcoming debate events today in room R-24 at 2:45. Please do not be late.

Attention Seniors! Do you need extra money for college? If so, please stop by the Career Center before/after school or during both lunches to get information about additional scholarships that are being offered for students who qualify. The deadline to apply and submit the applications are Tuesday February 19th.

Theater (Farson; 1/11- 1/16)

The Patriot Performers are excited to announce the spring musical, “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”. This is a fun show about a super competitive elementary school spelling bee. If you are interested in auditioning, you need to attend an informational meeting in the PAC at 2:45 on Wednesday 1/16/19. This meeting will go over what is expected for the auditions, and you will be able to pick up an audition packet. So come join us and get excited to be a part of a fun new show this spring.
