MONDAY ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

Bookstore (Holt; 4/3)

Information:  The following books will be available for purchase in the bookstore:

Crucible, $9.00, The Great Gatsby $10.50, The Handmades Tale $9.00, The Great Expectations $5.50, Othello $2.50…LIMITED SUPPLY WHEN THERE GONE THEY ARE GONE.

Driver Education Session (Tualla; 4/3)

Be aware students that you can start registering for the final session of this school year. May 30, 31 and June 1 from 8:00 a.m. to noon each day. Afterwards the behind - the wheel instruction will begin.

Prom Tickets will be going on sale and if you have more than a $6.00 fine on your account, you WILL NOT be able to purchase the tickets until all the BOOKS, MONEY OR ITEMS ARE returned.  If you have any questions, just come to the bookstore.

Scholarship (Trezza; 4/3- 4/7)

Seniors: Are you going to a trade school next year, and do you need $1000? If so, please stop by the counseling office and see your counselor or stop by the career center before or after school.

Math Department (Hadley; 3/30- 4/4)

Need help studying for the AzMerit Math test?  Study sessions are available today through Tuesday, April 4th.  See your math teacher for a schedule.

AP Testing (Koole; 3/30- 4/12)

Attention AP Students! We will be holding a mandatory AP presentation and pre-administration session on Wednesday, April 12th in the PAC building. Check-in is 7:40 a.m. and the presentation will begin promptly at 8:00. Any AP student that cannot attend this meeting must see Ms. Koole in the counseling office as soon as possible.

STUCO (Marshall; 3/31- 4/3)

Everybody love Barbeque and Shane’s Rib Shack will be here every Monday to bring you’re their tasty barbeque. You will have the option to purchase a shredded barbeque sandwich or buffalo chicken strips with chips for $5.00.

Light the Lawn (4/3- 4/7)

Light the Lawn Awareness week starts this week. Students who wish to participate are asked to wear the following colors:

Monday - YELLOW

Tuesday - RED

Wednesday - PURPLE

Thursday - BLUE

Friday – GREEN

The Light the Lawn event will be Friday 4/7/16 at 6pm at the PAC. There will be special guest speakers and performances highlighting important health and safety awareness’s. Admission is free.

Luminary bags and awareness color ribbons can be purchased in Ms. Farsons room before and after school. All proceeds will be donated to a family in need. Please come out to learn more about important topics and show support. Together we can all make a difference!

Prom Guest Forms (Kelly; 4/3- 5/2)

Prom guest forms are now available in the attendance office. They are due back by Wednesday 5-3-17 NO EXCEPTIONS! 

Key Club (Pampel; 4/3) “Attention Patriots! This week students will be carrying around a purple Relay For Life container in an effort to raise money to collect and donate to the American Cancer Society to help in the fight to prevent cancer. Key Club asks that if you have any extra change you help us by donating it for the cause. Any amount makes a difference.

"Hey Patriots, keep your eyes peeled for anyone carrying a purple Relay For Life container! Independence Key Club is trying to collect donations for the American Cancer Society in the fight to prevent cancer, so please donate! Even a small amount makes a different.

If you are interested in joining student council for 2017-2018 school year don’t forget there will be an informational on class elections  in room B20 (Ms. Marshall’s room),  Thursday April 6th at 2:45. We hope to see you there

Spiritline Parent Meeting (McMahon; 4/4)

 “There will be a parent meeting for all interested in trying out for next year’s Varsity Spiritline tonight at 6:00pm in the mini auditorium. Please attend with your parent or guardian. See Ms. McMahon in room B25 with any questions.”

There will be a 2017 basketball tournament on Monday April 17th! We need teams of 3! You and your team can sign up in the mall area, sign-ups will end April 14th Each team member will have to pay 4 dollars. The winning team will get pizza and soda!

Theatre Club (Farson; 4/4- 4/6)

If you are a current Thespian member with Theatre club, you must attend a mandatory meeting on Thursday, 4/6/17 after school in Ms. Farsons room. If you do not attend, you risk losing your active Thespian status. Please see Ms. Farson with any questions.

Spiritline Tryout Packet (McMahon; 4/6- 4/7)

Anyone interested in trying out for next year’s varsity Spiritline, all tryout packets are due to Ms. McMahon in room B25 by Monday April 10th at 3:30. Tryout clinics will take place Tuesday April 11th and Wednesday April 12thin the dance room from 3:30-5:30,

Young Environmentalist’s Club (Bolton; 4/6)

The Young Environmentalist’s Club will be holding a mandatory meeting THIS, Thursday April 6th for ALL members, including our JR. ROTC partners right after school in Room B24!  Due to the weather getting a little warmer, we will be partaking in some ice cream treats to cool down before collecting recyclable paper and cardboard.

Teachers, please be sure to bring your recyclable paper to ANY of the downstairs’ prep rooms, main office copy room, teacher’s lounge, or Media Center copy room if you are not available for classroom service. 

Chess Team (Bolton; 4/6)

The Chess Team and Club will be having it’s “Spring Training Kick-off” meeting TODAY, Thursday at 2:45 in Coach Bolton’s, Room B-24.  So plan to join our I.H.S. Chess Team in preparing for NEXT Team season events and activities, including this year’s “spring training.”  Everyone interested in joining next year’s Chess Team is invited to join us for “Open Board” play, ALL current Chess players are expected attend.  Team Competition is on its way, so come be a part of Patriot Chess Nation!

Surge on Campus/Elevate I.H.S. (Bolton, Foster, Badini; 4/6)

The Surge/Elevate I.H.S. Christian Fellowship Club will be having a “special” “post-AZ Merit Testing Meeting for EVERYONE interested, including current members and guests ON Thursday, April 6th after school in the Mini-Auditorium downstairs.  We’re excited to have you join us for FREE food, drinks, special games & activities, so be sure and grab any friends and bring them along. See YOU there and as always…remember that U R loved!

For just $8 dollars, you can enjoy all you can eat pancakes, and of course BACON! You can purchase tickets for the event from Mr. Pampel in R-14 or any Key Club member. Tickets are required in order to enter. Key Club can’t wait to see you there!”
