Chess Team( Bolton; 9/15)

The Independence Patriot Chess Team will be back in action for their second tournament THIS Saturday at Central HS.  The Patriot Chess Team had a strong performance during its first tournament at Thunderbird putting up great effort against Greenway, getting their first victory of season over Moon Valley, and a draw vs. Alhambra. Varsity Chess Team members Ethan Amaya went undefeated, followed by strong play by Kevin Romero, Victor Bruno, Cristian Corral, and Matthew Hernandez. Coach Bolton thanks all the players Varsity & JV that keep working hard on their game.  Remember that Chess is always looking for more players and it’s still the ONLY Varsity Sport that you can earn a Varsity Letter in without breaking a sweat, playing with a ball or birdie, or getting hit by anyone, so stop by B-24 after school and “check-mate” it out!

STUCO (Marshall; 9/15)
